Univers Charge
Professional charging solutions and energy management for the hotel of the future
Innovative. Connected. Sustainable.
The all-from-one solution for hotels from the leading greentech company Univers.
Univers supports hotels with an integrated Plan E as part of the all-from-one Charging-as-a-Service solution. We guide you and your team from conception to installation to the operation of your customized charging solution to meet your guests' needs and make a verified, sustainable contribution to achieving ambitious climate goals through valuable synergies and lucrative opportunities through parking and e-infrastructure upgrades.
What makes the optimal charging solution for hotels?
In addition to regulatory and coordination issues, three success factors crystallize for successful installation and optimized use of your charging infrastructure.
1. Usage & Billing Model
With our all-from-one Univers Charge solution, charging points in your hotel can be enabled for guests. You can attract new guests and allow easy on-site usage and control by listing them on charging station finder platforms.
Quick activation of guests
Your guest can start the charging process, e.g. with the hotel card or a card provided by Univers. There is no need for an additional app that still needs to be downloaded.
Billing
How you charge the charging process to the guest is up to you. Many options can be provided: whether as a free service, with a flat fee per charging process, or based on consumption.
Pricing and collective billing
In case of charging by third parties at activated charging boxes, you as the hotel operator have a free hand in pricing. You will receive an invoice for all charging processes through Univers and the CO2 savings at the end of the month.
2. Installation and Hardware
Charging station and installation perfectly matched in a complete package and installed by an e-mobility specialist.
Charging stations from brand manufacturers
Univers offers intelligent chargers (11 & 22kW with or without calibration conformity) from well-known manufacturers such as EASEE or ALFEN. The charging boxes work with almost all models of all car manufacturers (Type 2 plug).
In-house electricians
Through our in-house electricians and certified partner companies, we offer a professional and fast installation and maintenance service for our customers available throughout Germany.
Comprehensive service package
Part of this is a pre-visit to create a comprehensive consultation and an individual offer based on the local conditions. The service also includes remote hardware maintenance and an annual maintenance visit.
3. Power connection capacity and load management
Many questions need to be clarified in advance for a professionally planned charging infrastructure - from the number of charging points to their capacity to the best possible arrangement. However, the key success factor is matching the charging solution to the available capacity of the house connection.
Static Load Management
The fundamental success factor is adjusting the charging solution to the available capacity of the house connection. This results from the delta between the maximum house connection capacity and the current consumption of the main electrical consumers in the hotel.
Failure to address this issue could result in the building's instantaneous connected load being temporarily exceeded and the building's fuse being tripped. The solution is either to increase the connected load - at an additional cost - or to integrate load management.
Static load management is the simplest option. Here, the total charging power must not exceed a certain upper limit, which is firmly defined based on the available grid connection. In this case, the available power is distributed evenly among all vehicles - regardless of their charging needs or the current consumption of the house. This ensures functional safety but does not consider the requirements of drivers or charging point operators.
Dynamic Load Management
With dynamic load management, the total charging power available for the charging stations is dynamically adjusted to the current power consumption of the building and dynamically distributed between the charging stations. As soon as load peaks are reached, the charging power is automatically reduced.
How does it work?
In the first step, the current building consumption is measured using a smart meter and considered in load management. If the building consumption decreases, the total available power for all e-vehicles increases automatically.
This makes it possible to always stay within the consumption limits near real-time and avoid high costs for exceeding the grid connection power.
In the second step, intelligent prioritization and scheduling of the charging of the e-vehicles is enabled, e.g. via VIP parking spaces or settings in the app. However, this only works if the load is measured in real-time at the energy feed-in point and the charging point. The remaining power is dynamically distributed among the number of active charging points. This is made possible via a separate IoT device, a so-called energy management system, which ensures data processing, storage/backup, communication, and visualization on- and offline.

Key questions
Key questions
There are various ways you can offset the charging solution with your tenants or owners.
Univers's offering extends to intelligent renewable energies (solar, wind), intelligent cities (smart cities), networked energy and intelligent power plants. In short, smart energy and emissions management. As a key player in AIoT operating systems, Univers is building an ecosystem of partners to enable the energy transition and digital transformation worldwide. In Germany, Univers is driving the smart charging of electric cars at home and at work, in addition to many other activities such as the construction and operation of wind turbines. The company's manufacturer-independent technology is compatible and can be combined with almost all electric cars and manufacturers of chargers and PV systems. A smart charging box offers numerous advantages thanks to its connection to the internet. For example, it can be maintained remotely and continuously updated with software and security updates. EnOS is already designed to optimize self-consumption and grid-friendly charging in the future through various charging modes - the software decides when to charge, for example when electricity is particularly cheap because the wind and sun are feeding in strongly.
"Grid-friendly" in this context also means buying and storing electricity when there is a surplus in the grid. So that what often happens today does not happen and electricity disappears into the void. Renewable energy is far too valuable for that.
Yes, for example a lighthouse project in the port of Antwerp. As part of the Pioneers project, Univers is looking at all aspects of port operations: from terminal operations, concession agreements, mobility, connectivity and fuels to models for collaboration and production, as well as the storage and use of energy. The measures include the generation of renewable energies and the use of electric, hydrogen and methanol vehicles. Also included is the energy-efficient retrofitting of buildings and heating networks, a circular economy for infrastructure work, automation and the use of digital platforms to promote modal shift and ensure optimized vehicle, ship and container movements.
Based on the included IoT platform and the use of AI, EnOS enables continuous optimization of all relevant parameters using algorithms. This AIoT technology creates a digital twin of the port; port activities are modelled, simulated, optimized and monitored - including logistics, maintenance, traffic and energy consumption.
"EnOS™" stands for Energy Operating System and is a tried-and-tested, intelligent and open platform - the center of an ever-growing ecosystem. Our goal: We are realigning the generation and consumption of energy and the digital transformation. Worldwide.
EnOS™ already connects and manages a large number of energy producers and consumers. It connects cities and companies in an intelligent way.
